1. Scope
1.1
This Standard sets forth criteria for determining the need for a routine environmental monitoring program.
1.2
This Standard provides guidelines for establishing an environ mental program covering (a) sampling and analysis protocols; (b) analytical techniques and sensitivity; (c) statistical treatment of monitoring results; (d) quality assurance; (e) methods for expressing results; and (f) recordkeeping.
1.3
This Standard applies to the environment of a nuclear facil ity operating mainly under normal conditions. In addition, certain of these requirements may also apply to situations involving abnormal releases.
